Training

We believe that quality training is our number one asset.  Because of this, we maintain an aggressive monthly training schedule in which all members receive expert instruction and practical hands-on training.  Members undergo training in a variety of disciplines, including the following:

  • First Aid
  • Accident / Injury Victim Management
  • CPR
  • Cold Weather Survival Techniques
  • SCUBA Diving
  • Swift Water Rescue
  • Snow Shoeing
  • Map Navigation
  • Avalanche Hazards / Search & Rescue
  • Wilderness Survival
  • Technical Rock Rescue
  • Man Tracking

Thousands of hours every year are dedicated to training the members of this unit.  Due to the many hours dedicated to training, we often feel that we are "Living to train", but we are actually "Training to Live".
